How to Assemble the Home for the Holidays Plant Package

If you're a seasoned Plant Package subscriber, you likely already know how easy it is to assemble a Plant Package. But if you're new, or maybe still deciding if you want to subscribe, you might be a little weary of our process. Below, we've broken the steps down for you - with photos!

STEP ONE: UNBOX

Your Plant Package plants arrive snug in the box, but they need fresh air, sunlight, and water right away! Even if you’re not ready to assemble your Plant Package right away, it's important to unpack the plants and put in a sunny area until you’re ready. Add about 1/4 cup of water to each plant if the soil is dry. Now is a good time to assemble your mess-free tray if you received a Plant Package with standard or premium pots!

STEP TWO: HYDRATE

In the resealable bag provided, add the all-natural compressed coir discs, the perlite (the white pebbles), and the slow-release plant nutrients. Add two (2) quarts of WARM water and let sit for 5-10 minutes.

PRO TIP: More water is not necessarily better when hydrating. Too much water will make the soil runny.

STEP THREE: MIX & DRAIN

When your coir discs are fully expanded, mix together all ingredients. Massage the closed bag to incorporate ingredients or open the bag and mix with your hands! Drain any excess water from the bag before potting.

PRO TIP: Poke small holes in bottom of bag and drain over the sink or outside.

STEP FOUR: TRANSPLANT

Add approximately one inch of soil to the bottom of each pot. Add the plants with or without the biodegradable pots (we recommend removing the bio pots). The top of the plants should come up to the inside lip of the planter. Fill the container with the leftover coir soil around the plants. There is no perfect order for where you put your plants, but make sure they aren't crowding each other - equal space is best. For standard pot subscribers - one

STEP FIVE: DISPLAY

Place your arrangements in a location that receives bright, indirect sunlight (a good rule of thumb is at least three feet away from the windows in your sunniest room). Water when dry. To tell if your plants need water, stick your finger one inch into the soil. If it feels dry, it is time to water. To start, water once a week and assess from there.
